not sure, but it would be very helpful to most people, especially kids in college.

Reply to Road Test Tips? by Working-Tomatillo995
i was barely able to function with nerves all week when i made my test but it’s so easy the course is actually pretty pathetic. it’s just a parking test. here’s a few tips:
-
practice the test as much as possible. i suggest using 3 cones and doing the maneuverability test as many times until you can do it with your eyes closed.
-
practice parallel parking. i know it sounds obvious but they’re very specific about how close you need to be to the curb (anything over a foot it too much and they’ll make you reposition yourself.
-
if you are under 18, your guardian must be in the vehicle with you during the test. if they say a word, it’s an auto-fail.
-
once you’re there, it’s go time. there’s no turning back so if you feel you aren’t ready, don’t go. however, these people want you to pass! it takes much more time to fill out a failure paper than a passing one.
-
after you pass the test, you will need your SSN, Permit, Birth Certificate, Proof of Residency and $25 for the license itself. they give you a paper copy as your physical license takes about 2-3 weeks to come in the mail. (no copies, all files and documents must be originals)
-
show up on time. i know it’s a given but today at the dmv some girl’s test was on at 9:45 AM. (my test was at 2:15) she showed up at 2:00 and expected to be able to take the test. the workers throw away your printed out appointment paper when you’re done and if you don’t show up they’ll do the same thing. they sent her home and now she has to wait an entire month to reschedule, but knowing the dmv the only available appointments open are in april, if you book now.
-
after the 50 foot backing test, you NEED to STOP at LINE 5 BEFORE PROCEEDING TO LINE 6. the instructor will emphasize this but will word it differently. for me, he said something along the lines of “proceed to line 6 obeying ALL traffic laws.” they have stop signs up everywhere so it shouldn’t be too hard to remember, but most people have failed because of it.
-
use your hazard when backing up and doing the parallel parking. use your blinkers while turning.
like i said this course is a joke. if you have a backup camera you CAN use it, just don’t stare at it the entire time. use your mirrors. i passed with an 100.
note: points are BAD. if you get 16 points, you fail. the max is 15. i had a rlly chill guy and he helped me the entire way. good luck!
