I'm not suggesting the class should be taught by someone who isn't certified or well-trained. Just that there should be a cheaper option for those who don't need a certification.
Nothing against the Red Cross, they do a lot of good. But CPR should be taught to everyone for super cheap. By charging $35/student for the cert, they jack the price up since the instructor needs to turn a profit as well. At the end of the day, they're a $3 billion company whos top management are all making half a million plus in salary.

I get what you're saying, but you really can't do more harm than good. They're dead. Poor quality CPR is still better than no CPR.
If you mean someone might do CPR on a person who is still alive, well yeah, I don't know if training is going to fix that.

You are covered by good samartian laws regardless. I used to be an AHA CPR instructor. If you're doing CPR on them, they're already dead, so you can't make them more dead. You can sue anyone for anything.
First aid gets a little more dicey since you can really screw shit up, like putting a tourniquet on someone's arm when they have a small cut.

That is definitely nothing you'll see in the north Jersey/populated area. 100% a relic of south Jersey/rural farmland.

Murphy’s reform pledge, NJ lawmakers are working on changing liquor licensing laws that have remained largely unchanged since the years just following Prohibition: The current laws make obtaining a liquor license difficult and allow for a finite number of retail consumption licenses by rollotomasi07071
I absolutely HATE that I have to go to a liquor store to get some beer on the way to a party or something, instead of swinging by a convenience store or buying it at the grocery store. Massachusetts has similar laws (you have to buy from a liquor store), but there's not these dumb limits of the number of permits issued by population as well.
Hopefully they pass this and let you have the option to pump your own gas.

Edit: I actually read the bill and it really won't change anything. NJ is stupid.

You do realize you don't have to drink alcohol with a meal, right?

Small office-sized trashcan with a flip lid and the small garbage bags you can buy at the store. I empty it once a week with the trash.

It's a bad idea. The cat litter is meant to absorb moisture and that can quickly lead to a clog. Especially if it's down further in the sewer pipe, you could be in for some serious problems.

Reply to Is Central Jersey, specifically Old Bridge/Matawan/Marlboro area considered boring? by deluxepepperoncini
Boring in what regard? Compared to a bigger city like Jersey City, yeah. Most of CNJ is middle class suburban 9-5 families, middle aged people. There's not really party areas like the equivalent of Bourbon St.
However there's plenty to do on the weekends- hiking, golfing, the shore, etc.

Great, 2 inches of snow will fuck up traffic royally. Not because it's 2 inches of snow on the road, but because people are going to absolutely lose their shit and drive either 25mph or still drive 85mph and end up in a ditch doing the jersey slide.

How was yours only a few dollars per month? I just checked mine and it would go up $51/month. A 33% increase.

Yes. It's a regular brand-name (Nest or Sensi) boxed thermostat like you would buy from Amazon. I have seen the ones that allow the power companies to control, and you'd be crazy to install one of those unless they're going to offer a substantial discount.

Electric- around $155/month for gas and electric (evenly spread out). Groceries- $100/week for 2 people. Water, internet, cell phone, sewer, car insurance, streaming services, etc... it's about $900 month for the absolute basics besides rent.

I wouldn't even consider it unless the salary they're offering you is at least $150k. Housing prices are still insane, and so are rental prices. Everything in NJ is expensive, and it's worse now more than ever with inflation.

There's a lot to factor in here. If you're driving by yourself, realistically you can do about 12 hours a day. So 4 days, that means 3 nights in a hotel (assuming you can go straight to your apartment or wherever the day you arrive in NJ). Plus food, and about 100 gallons of gas. Yeah, you could just sleep in the car at rest areas, but having a bed and a shower makes a huge difference in your moral and back pain.
If you ship the car, you can also fill up the car with some of your stuff so that saves a bit on moving costs. You'll be without a car for probably a couple of weeks so be sure to factor in the cost of Uber or other public transportation. Then also the flight cost.
I helped a friend move from NY to AZ awhile back. We took 8 hour shifts each of driving, and stopped for the night in Indiana and western Kansas. This country is so huge, and most of the driving is incredibly boring. I really appreciated having a 5 hour flight home versus 3 days in a car. I was so sore afterwards.
