Reply to comment by PepperShaken in Apple hints iPhone 15 with USB-C port won't launch outside Europe by captmaxwell

Misguided? That would be incredibly smart actually.
Tim Cook is utterly obsessed about margins.
Apple fought extremely hard against the European proposal, until they lost. Everybody in the industry knows that chargers sold by Apple are sold with a good margin $$$.
Executives within the company are also well aware that their average Apple consumer has a religious fervor for them. Regardless of the things the company has done or will do, they assume consumers will always support Apple, no matter.
They intend to profit from that. There is no reason to voluntarly reduce their margins worldwide because of a EU decision.

Reply to Apple earnings rise as economic gloom hits tech by yash13
There is no brand as strong as Apple.
It doesn't matter what they do, their customers are very loyal. I sometimes compare it to a religion. Tim Cook could shoot someone on the 5th avenue, they would still buy the new iProduct. Incredible.
