Reply to Tips on reading on a foreign language? by Frinnxy
Reading and listening are the ways I learn foreign languages. It's always nice if you can find a book that is just a bit above your current level so that you can both understand without looking up words, but also continue to improve. That is sometimes the challenge!

Reply to Reading classics in their native language? Thoughts and suggestions - Dumas and Hugo by TegisTARDIS
I'm an Arabic professor who learned Icelandic for fun, and then I discovered Arnaldur IndriĆ°ason, and have absolutely loved his crime books, especially the Inspector Erlendur series. His books are very popular worldwide, and I've been very happy to be able to access them in the original.
