Glass syringes exist and should be durable, but are not really for this purpose. Unlike plastic syringes with rubber seals, there is nothing that holds the plunger in place, so if you tilt it vertically without holding the plunger in place, either the medication or the plunger will fall out.

For me the motor gets gradually weaker after the first or second year. It's not immediately noticeable but when I replace it I notice an increase in power.

I've been using Royal Copenhagen china since we received it as a wedding gift over 10 years ago. I don't know the bone ash percent but there have only been a few small chips and one broken cup despite daily use including two young boys.

The blue fluted half lace pattern is over 100 years old, and old pieces in good condition are easy to find.
