This is a deep cut. My pick was gonna be Ender's earring from Speaker for the Dead that he uses to talk to Jane.

This is actually a super deep question you've asked, OP. Check out Mach's Principle and absolute rotation, these things are being debated even today.

Hacking your biology is real. You can change your metabolism, alter your sensory perception, grow new organs and designer features, and so on. The technological breakthrough that enabled the bionic revolution came from a secret source code leak on the dark web. Thing is, nobody knows who wrote it; the author was pseudonymous. After a few decades, we find out that they also hold the API keys to the new tech... when they start trolling the users.

I wonder what would happen if they took the Abraham Wald approach and designed a counterintuitive algorithm. Like, make a heatmap of violent crimes (assault, robbery, rape, etc.), and then sic the algo on non-violent crimes in the inverted heatmapped areas, like larceny, wire fraud, and so on. Higher-income areas have wealthier people, and statistically wealthier people are better equipped to commit high-dollar white collar crimes. You could also use the hottest areas on the violence heatmap to target social services support.

I'm trying to get the "this encloses that" matrioshka order of funerary containers correct so I can enclose the world's most anticlimactic 'pop goes the weasel' joke for future archeologists.
