I see you're studying for your degree in pedantry. A black hole is it's event horizon and everything inside it.

That is interesting: it is certainly how I feel. However, I know many people who would not know that one is misspelt and therefore I am uncertain if they would feel negatively toward the one that was misspelt.

Then they should use "terrestrial". Using "Earth" creates expectations in people's minds that are far beyond anything meant by "super-Earth" and leads to broad misunderstanding of the science. Look no further than the word "theory" for how damaging this can be.
