I think the FOMO over the cherry blossoms has been amplified by social media.

A few years ago we had a brilliant day similar to this - 68 degrees, sunny, blue skies - that coincided with peak bloom. It was pretty busy but it didn't seem anywhere as crazy as it does this year. Not nearly as many blossom photos on Reddit either.

If you can see something different and want a historic mansion, you could also consider the following:

George Mason's home, Gunston Hall, is only a few miles south of Mount Vernon. While the grounds are not as expansive, the house tours are always good and it is never very busy there. Seeing the Mason home provides some really interesting historical context for the Bill of Rights, and as Washington's neighbor you can see his influence. It's not really a full-day trip in the way that Mount Vernon is but I enjoy visiting occasionally.

The Hillwood Estate isn't tied to US history, but it has an excellent collection of art inside the mansion belonging to Marjorie Meriwether Post, cereal magnate and namesake of the Post Pavilion in DC.

Dumbarton Oaks also isn't really US history but this estate has a fabulous collection of central and south American art as various Byzantine pieces.

There are always the Smithsonians as well but I'm assuming you're well aware of those, figured I'd give you some other ideas.

In addition to being "the rules", it's good practice to wear one and learn how to adjust it properly while out on the water. There are many waterways in which boaters without a PFD account for the overwhelming majority of serious / fatal accidents.

I can't refer any particular groups but I did want to offer my best wishes to you, OP. Seeking help demonstrates strength of character. If you haven't already, consider discussing your situation with family or friends who might be able to provide additional support. They want to see you conquer this, too.

That may be for historical trends, it could also be from station entrances and exits. Interestingly metrobuses actually have a live indicator of bus capacity, it is explained here: https://www.wmata.com/about/news/Real-Time-Crowding.cfm

I've updated my previous comment accordingly.

Note that the article explicitly states that the tech is not installed on train cars, at least during December 2020.

Cheat code is a pack of Oscar Meyers. Cheap, fragrant, and they stay on the hook pretty well since they're firm. Heavy sinker (half ounce or so) with 50-lb wire leader and #8 circle hook.

I've had luck with fish in the 20lb range, mostly blue catfish.

Another suggestion: look for buildings that were built as condos.

They tend to have a little more sound insulation. If you end up looking in VA or MD there are quite a few complexes that were built around '07/'08 that were intended to be condos but later became rental units since nobody was buying at that point.

You can get stuff in your price range in Rosslyn or Courthouse (VA) for that kind of money, for sure.
