This is directly from MA RMV site: If your (out of state) license has been expired more than 1 year, a full test (written and road) and an eye test will be required. If your license is active or is expired for less than 1 year, a written and road test is not required.

Note that the message said "...blocks other than Municipal/City Property Tax Block." So, it seems like it is a block not from your town and you definitely need to ask the DMV for more details as to who put the block on your renewal.

If one of the days turns particularly cold or nasty, one activity might be Monster MiniGolf in Seekonk, MA which is just over the border with RI. They have an indoor minigolf course and an arcade. And then head over to the Pinball Museum in Pawtucket where you can play rooms and rooms filled with classic pinball machines. Finish with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Providence.

And, Taxachusetts just started down the slippery slope to being able to collect more and more taxes from more and more people as they get to play with and adjust the, so-called Millionaire's Tax. Over the next few years, it will be amazing to watch as the definition of "millionaire" is lowered and lowered to satisfy the politicians' insatiable need for additional funds to spend. That is why MA is one of the top states losing population to more sane states.

If you are stuck due to your husband's job, start thinking about long commutes into Boston. Some people move to NH and commute in, in fact. The further west and north you go, the lower the real estate prices tend to get, though they are still high.

Very few opinions are changed by debates, especially this late into the campaign. The underdog (in this case, Kalus) hopes to do just that, but it rarely succeeds. The favorite usually agrees to debate to not look afraid but usually uses the debate to try to fire up his or her own base in order to keep the lead.

On the Border in Warwick has a grilled chicken and bacon sandwich, a steak sandwich, and also a burger. All of them come standard with various Mexican toppings, but you could certainly order them plain. They come with french fries, too. They also have a pizza, but I am not sure that you could "de-Mexicanize" it to make it more like an American pizza.
