I'd suggest finding a hobby that gets you out of the house and mingling with people. The below dance classes are pay-what-you-can in Scarborough. Board games, DnD, sports ball, SCA? You need to have something in common with people and then the rest comes naturally.

This is what is known as a marten, or a red-eyed devil. They are rats with red eyes but gray markings.
