Reply to Why FTL travel seems impossible to me from a practical standpoint. Insight requested. by JerryWasARaceCarDrvr
If we put it practically, FTL would be impossible, as calculating velocities close to light speed would require mass close to null. Meaning to go FTL, you’d require a negative mass. But if possible, there is time dilation, for the people on the ship, the travel would seem nearly instant, so the people on the ship would be basically as when they left.
As for the destination not being there. We can’t be sure any place really is there, no matter how long it takes us to get there

Reply to Do you think it would be beneficial to come out with birth control for boys and men? why or why not? by Baybeeboiz
I believe there is one in the making, by an Indian manufacturer if I recall, sort of like vasectomy but not really, they inject a sort of gel on the testicular tubes to stop sperm, supposedly no side effects have been shown and easily reversible

Dembow, oh why, how Can someone really listen to something like that

Depends on what gear you are listening, if it’s your usual pop and radio rap, yea, everything sounds boring

I’m guessing there is a couple reasons: •shock factor, regular people are boring •we want a happy ending/conclusion, if the movie was done from the victims perspective, the victim is killed and the killer still out there

Reply to comment by Zkenny13 in ELI5: Can someone explain what information is visible through a social security number? by PanamsAss
It’s become harder ever since the real-estate bubble exploded in 2008, many regulations have been put in place so banks don’t be giving out these to anyone just to raise their numbers. It’s become harder but not impossible

SS is your ID, you can find anything with it. Major purchases, bank accounts, criminal records, addresses, phone numbers, etc. How I know? I use these programs in banking to screen clients, it can be scary all the info that’s available from us

I know it’s self evident that you don’t want your kids close to fire, therefore making it funny, but this might mean it’s made of materials that combust quicker (more flammable) than other types of clothes like polyester or other flame retardant materials
