Interested in this too, Baltimore is such an old city that there has to be something neat buried around somewhere. I've seen videos where folks do bottle collecting from old dumps too, seems like fun.

Used to commute to Germantown 5 days a week. Lots of wear and tear on my car in the end, but the I-70 drive was fairly scenic and you get to chuckle at the other side of the highway in stagnant traffic. Still took close to 1.5 hours regularly to get home, I would always try and leave early.

Baltimore now is a bit like what NYC was in the 1980s/90s. Some opportunity for guts and glory down here, plus much lower cost of living and easier commuting.

Reply to are there persimmons here? by No-Beautiful-6622
They're sometimes in the "exotic fruit" sections of grocery stores. If you can make it to H-mart they'll have them (fresh and dried) for sure. If you're interested in foraging American Persimmons, there's a tree on Hopkins Homewood campus along Charles street. I think there's also a street tree on 27th and Maryland, somewhere thereabouts. Check fallingfruit.org

Reply to Is there anywhere to play Air Hockey in Baltimore? Arcade Recommendations also welcome by kooblikon
There's a Round One in the Towson Mall. I think a lot of arcades around here are really more just bars with pinball machines.

Reply to I pay my water bill once every 3-6 months by smoovgee
I get and pay my water bill monthly after having let my partner "take care of it" for a year, which meant it just wasn't paid for a full year and we forked over like a $2k lump sump or something.

Reply to comment by DooDooSlinger in If collagen is a protein, and proteins are broken down during digestion, why would collagen or collagen supplements be beneficial? Is it just hype? by skepticated
obviously this is a hot topic and while there are some human studies, the rodent ones should be taken with a grain of salt. Collagen isn't in a typical rodent diet so it makes sense they haven't evolved to digest it the same way that humans can digest proteins. Factor in cooking and the picture gets even muddier.
