Reply to Why didn’t I enjoy Conversations With Friends? What did you like about it? by zeroschiuma
I was very ambivalent until the ending, when the entire arc of the story just seemed to fill me with emotion. I'm definitely in the target audience and related to the main characters' insufferable qualities, so it made me reflect on that. You're definitely not too bourgeois haha, I think it mostly appeals to white women in their early 20s

I have about 150 physically because I don't like owning things and get most of my books at the library. I would say it's mostly nonfiction or fantasy but I have a wide variety

I really liked Set Boundaries Find Peace. It has a lot of actionable steps and I can implement them really easily

Reading has helped my career because I'm a library worker and have more books to recommend! I've always been a reader, so I haven't noticed anything improving

Reply to Buy books or borrow from library? by ladyluckyy777
80% of the books I read are from the library. I only buy if I really enjoyed it, I want to annotate in it, or if it's hard to find in my library system (mostly translated works). Also sometimes if it's a good deal 😅
