Only an idiot people would think "We don't need to worry about this until it becomes a problem". This is a safeguard for the future.
To be an idiot and think preparing for the future is not worth our time is one thing... But I would go a step further and say it would take an exceptional fucking moron to practice complacency after what happened with Roe v. Wade. How many of you fucking mouthbreathers used to say it'd never get repealed? How many of you said not to worry? How many of you said right now's not the time? How many of you said to wait?
I hope the day will never come where this amendment becomes our foremost line of defense, because when that day comes there will surely be people like you poking spears in our backs.

more important is that we get to fellatiate ourselves with the whole "See? eVeN oUr RePubLicAnS aRe GoOd!" nonsense. people look at scott with rose-tinted glasses because they want to advertise themselves as non-partisan.

What is the point of saying that? That slavery is okay because it is common?

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude,
#except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted,
shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Completely fucking ridiculous that it needs to be on the ballot, but it's also completely fucking ridiculous that slavery was never properly outlawed federally in the first place.
