Not entirely true. I’ve watched all three seasons of Succession. But the multitude of ads for Yellowstone show a powerful and wealthy man who uses his position to manipulate others, a daughter who is loyal to her powerful father and a son who wants to take down his father. The central theme of both shows seems to be “us vs. the rest of the world trying to take what’s ours”.
I tried to watch Yellowstone and couldn’t get into it. I should have been more clear in my original comment that, on a superficial level, Yellowstone seems like a copycat Succession with a western theme.
I appreciate all of the comments and the deeper comparisons and analysis of characters, writing, etc.
