It’s okay, if you are planning on starting a family then Centreville Bank marketing department is not the place to be employed!

Oh, I did, we started to sue and we ended up settling for a pretty small amount.
Every lawyer I talked to said it would be hard to prove and a very long case since they technically eliminated my position (even though they hired someone with a very slightly different title to replace me).
So we took the money.

I know you can, if you have been employed and have earned over $14,000 within the last 5 quarters, which I have, at least that much is clear on their website.
TDI is separate from unemployment and is for different things.
I’m just confused about the rest, but I’ll call tomorrow and see if I can get it if figured out.

Godavari is no joke.
I thought I liked spicy and I couldn’t even eat their medium!
It’s very good but I have to order mild each time.

Seriously, this person took the time to:
-
notice this billboard
-
take a photo of the billboard
-
share it on social media
The law firm can’t ask for more than that from their ad.

Yeah it’s a really nice place, but it is expensive.
The median income in $164,000 and the average home price last year was 1.3m.
However if you can afford it it’s lovely!

I’m confused on where you are looking for a house.
I literally just did a Zillow search and got 107 listing of 2+ bedroom houses under $300,000

I admit I’m a harsh judge of schools.
As for EP specifically, their academics and student progress are really not great, especially their middle schools, some elementary schools are decent but others not so much.
I also have a lot of close friends in school/city management and the ones that work in EP describe such ineptitude and uncaring management it’s amazing.
When we were looking for houses, EP was quickly ruled out because of the schools. We spent a lot of time visiting, researching and it just kept landing near the bottom.
Other than that it’s a nice community though!
Maybe the new high school will help, because the sorely need it!

East providence is probably your best bet, it’s pretty cheap and would fit your distance requirements.
Downside is that the school system is at best mediocre, but you have a few years before you need to worry about that!

Let me put it to you this way, I work in west Warwick and before I got that job the number of daytime streetfights I had seen was zero.
It is no longer zero.
It’s not dangerous really, it’s just….really trashy.

These things are crowded because they are fun!
Crowds aren’t my absolute favorite thing either but not everything is an unspoiled hidden gem, sometimes to do the fun thing you need to deal with other people!

Oh come on guys.
Yes, Salem is super crowded this time of year and yeah it’s annoying if you live there (I get it, I grew up there), but it’s also a lot of fun for a lot of people, especially kids.
OP Salem can be a lot of fun this time of year! I hope you have a great time.
Some pieces of advice:
-
if you are okay with walking a bit, there is almost always parking over the little bridge on bridge st, if you want something closer you can try the garage near Peabody Essex.
-
get there early! It helps with the crowds and parking!
-
if you want to go out to dinner in Salem make a reservation, (there are also some good restaurants in surrounding communities like Beverly, Marblehead and Lynn that will be less crowded)
-
bring snacks and critically water! Again helps with the lines.
-
pick a few activities and museums that you really want to go to and get tickets a head
-
take time to people watch! That’s half the fun of Salem this time of year!
-
most importantly, embrace the chaos. It’s going to be crowded, it’s going to be touristy, it’s going to be a little silly, but that’s the fun of it!
Plan ahead a little and it will help make the day run smoother!
Hope this helps!

Reply to How's the job market for you guys going, am I having a tough time finding positions? by [deleted]
I’m having trouble but I think it’s because I am 7.5 months pregnant.
I do super well on the screener, and on the first interview over zoom but when employees see me in person for the second interview it’s a hard pass.
I’m hoping it will be easier to find a job after the baby is born!
