We have deeper issues such as affordable housing (or the lack thereof). And especially under Trump, the federal government had a history of putting on big events in the city and not timely reimbursing the DC government. The Trump administration didn’t timely reimburse the DC government for Trump’s narcissist 4th of July event, his inauguration, etc. And the DC government itself needs to be focused on other issues besides a massive NYE celebration.z

Carlos Santucci deli in Silver Spring has amazing cheesesteaks, cold cuts and other sandwhiches. The Broiler in Arlington, VA does amazing cheesesteaks as well (I actually found out about them here on Reddit). Paisano’s (multiple locations) has great sandwhiches as well. I would definitely rank Carlos Santucci as my number one, though. Honorable Mentions: Zburger and Charleys.

Editing to say I re-read the title and realized you specifically were looking in DC. But hopefully these recommendations will help you for the greater DC area as well.

They are a national chain, but I’ve come to love Chick-Fil-A’s chicken sandwhiches. Also, pre-pandemic I had a Nashville Hot chicken sandwhich at BJ’s Brewhouse and it was delicious. Not sure how they managed to keep the chicken so crispy with the hot sauce on it but they did. (Though the chicken sandwhich I had delivered from them was not as good as the one I physically had in the restaurant.)

I’m also just wondering what, if anything, this means for the other side. Not in the same building that TJ Maxx, movie theater and McDonalds were in. But the other side. The side where the CVS and Cheesecake Factory are in. Is that building going to remain up?

You could use a non-driver’s ID for other things than just purchasing alcohol. For example, if you’re going to the doctor or an urgent care center here you might be asked for a health insurance card and/or ID. Thus, especially since you indicated you plan on being here in DC for a while, I would recommend you get your non-driver’s ID.

Legal arguments aside, I would say this: If you are interested in working on your relationship with your dad it might not be a good idea to incorporate the voice mail into the song. He would likely resent you using that voicemail and that would make it more difficult for the two of you to work on any issues in your relationship.
