That does not exist here. A lease has names on it, and you can’t simply just substitute people. You would be getting a new lease. The way you avoid broker fees is by looking at no fee apartments. Usually Craigslist or even Zillow.

All I’ll say is you’re gonna love it. Arlington is a great town. Definitely not rural but not far away from it either. Lots of places nearby to hike and get away from people, but also very convenient for city activities.

Boston area weather gonna be a few degrees colder on average and you’ll get a little bit more snow, but no real difference.

So flippant. If you shut down a train for 5 yrs, people just don’t keep doing the same thing until it reopens. You’ll destroy countless businesses and communities, perhaps permanently. People will move, and change their behavior to not need the train. So when the train comes back, it’s a different world.

Companies will pay what employees will accept and not much more. It confuses me when people get irked that a company isn’t operating primarily as a charity for their workers. The job market is a market and employees get the market rate. When you go buy a company’s product for $50, do you throw in an extra $20 as a donation? Then you shouldn’t be surprised that the employer isn’t doing that for you.

Lexington is an old money town with fantastic schools. (Well are the schools really that good, or is it just that the parents are all highly skilled professionals?) In any case…housing will certainly be more expensive than Wilmington. Neighbors will all be doctors, lawyers, executives. Wilmington more likely to have tech professionals with blue collar types mixed in. If money is no object, these are the towns with the best schools/reputation that are north or northwestish of the city in rough order:

Lincoln Weston Sudbury Newton Concord Andover Carlisle Bedford Acton Boxborough Reading Westford

This ranking is based on no particular evidence, just what I have picked up over 20 yrs living around here.

I think Wilmington has been underrated. Close to I-93 so it’s easy to get into the city and north to the mountains of VT and NH. There is the Wilmington commuter rail station and Anderson RTC for train access to the city or Logan Express to the airport. Wilmington has big box stores and is close to Target, Lowes, and Market Basket which are actually in neighboring Woburn. Easy access through back roads to H-mart, Trader Joe’s and Mall in nearby Burlington. Wilmington has nice looking homes but not uppity looking like a Winchester. Also it has a small historic district which is nice to drive through:

Woburn Street Historic District https://maps.app.goo.gl/LAzWtaGhyRGp6atj7?g_st=ic

I believe the schools are decent with an upward trajectory just from what I have heard, but take that with a grain of salt.

South Boston Waterfront is definitely the same as Seaport. I know the Waterfront area you’re talking about, but it’s not a city district. And there was definitely a time where the city was pushing that SBW name where Seaport was just referred to as Waterfront.

Interesting that you called it the “South Boston Waterfront.” Some groups tried really hard to get that name to stick. People seemed to be calling it “The Waterfront” for a while. But now it just goes by “Seaport”.
