I love Western Washington. We have all of this wonderful waterfront and we’ve decided it should be 99% private homes of people so wealthy they’re only there a couple months a year and then they allow us poors to enjoy little pockets of beach that fill up the minute it’s 70 degrees or more. People act like we’re the Socialist Republic of Washington but we’re where billionaires come to stretch their legs with applause from the local politicians.

Very few people in Washington are from here while most New Englanders I met while living there were from there. The main differences are in formality. We have basically none out west and back east you feel like you can find yourself “out of place” fairly easily. Whether it’s Omak or Seattle, being new is more appreciated and doesn’t mark you out as “weird” as much as it would back east. When I lived in Massachusetts, states like Alaska, New Mexico and Washington were like faraway planets.

Yeah, it’s so uplifting that the people whose health we sacrifice so we have something to get drunk to and sell ads on several days a week are concerned about the completely unimportant resolution of a game that nearly ended his life. What the fuck is wrong with this country? Why don’t we just have parades for all of the people with serious brain trauma and we can all wave at and thank them for their brave sacrifice so we can have yet another form of entertainment?

Well that decision also served conservative interests. Businesses wouldn’t lose workers, GOP politicians didn’t have to pass any reforms and Trump didn’t have to deport a ton of Dreamers, which would have been terrible press. I’m sure Trump was elated he didn’t have to carry out that campaign promise.

I do not understand how this Supreme Court arbitrarily decides which policies the executive branch can carry out and which they can’t. This is such clear partisan hypocrisy on their part. If a Republican politician puts in place a policy, a Democratic president cannot cease to use it unless the court signs off? This isn’t just legislating from the bench, it’s exercising Executive/Presidential power from it. Effectively six Supreme Court justices have all but replaced the president.

I'm glad this got picked up, but I'm also sad Rutherford Falls got cancelled. Bobbie had just become the first non-binary mayor, Terry was getting into the recreational weed business and Reagan was going to have to deal with having her sexy former hookup move to town at the same time she was going out with her coworker. I was INVESTED!
