I’d say a significant minority do it around here. I guess it’s an effective, though somewhat dishonest, marketing tactic—they can advertise the lower price, but most customers will end up paying the credit price.
The station was very much open; I took the picture while filling up there.
As for the math, I’m comparing the credit prices ($4.60-$3.78). Call it 72¢ if you pay cash, but it’s still a massive difference.
Whenever I get frustrated with Redditors, all I have to do is look at the comment section of a recommended Instagram post to remind me how good I have it here.
