I think you need to balance your own financial priorities, but I have two suggestions to help you do that:
Remember the old saying about how you can borrow money to buy a house, but you can't borrow money to retire
Use one of those "investment calculator" pages online to see how much money you invest today will be worth when you're old, vs. how much money you invest in e.g. 10 years will be worth when you're old.
