She failed to vaccinate them for rabies. And defended them as being well behaved. She should not own dogs, and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, and maybe a bill to ban the breed should be named after her. No part of this situation is not her fault. Did her brother force her to let him watch the dogs at gunpoint?

It’s been good for what it is. Last downtime on record was 12/26. Not solid downtime, but 10-12 instances throughout the day. Appears to be a predictable anomaly connected with staff being out for the holidays.

Speed is generally as advertised, though difficult to accurately measure.

You must be new here: Springfieldians maintain a dormant form of PTSD that is triggered by the possibility of driving in snow. This allows them to get one or two snow days a year for only nominal snowfall.

Some of us come by this honestly, as the early aught pre-Christmas traffic jam had everyone I know in stop and go traffic for six to eight hours. The fact that this has been sublimated into a culture of having inappropriate freak outs whenever snow begins to fall is unfortunate (and a bit of a chicken-egg thing).

Except, of course, this is about culling dogs, and not people. The shithead is going to keep on being a shithead. The most you can do is make it illegal for them to own an animal that will react to their shithead qualities by getting angrier and crazier and more uncontrollable until they go out, independent of the shithead, and rip the faces off a bunch of toddlers.

Pit bulls are a uniquely fragile breed, apparently predisposed by fundamental behavior to attack children and other dogs. They’re apparently responsible for half fatal dog attacks despite representing no more than 6% of the dog population. We need to be phasing out any animal with salient evidence of pit characteristics for the same reason we don’t let felons own firearms, we put cancer warnings on cigarette packs, and we don’t allow private ownership of high explosives.

Thanks for enumerating all the challenges to the process. Finding the answers might be difficult, but not impossible. I’d prefer to find these answers over having my children attacked in school because some shithead I’ve never met couldn’t manage their animal properly.

Whole backend is 2.5Gbps, and the wifi is late model Omada APs that can perform literal gigabit speeds with a Wifi6 device. Device is connected by Ethernet to an old laptop running my home automation software. I’d expect the built-in NIC to be 100Mbps (fast ethernet) or 895Mbps (gigabit), not this in-between number.

Mediacom is allowing its infrastructure to rot on the vine.

Quick guide to Brightspeed:

(1) I log internet uptime. They’ve had four outages in about two months, each lasting no more than two minutes. Imperfect, but an improvement over any other ISP.

(2) The router they provide is not great. You’re better off using your own router that meets your requirements. You will have to VLAN tag the WAN port with “201” in order to access Brightspeed through the ONT (fiber modem). Once your router is up and running the Brightspeed router can be put to satisfactory use as a kinetic deterrent to any urban fox infestations you happen to be dealing with.

(3) “Gigabit” will not normally manifest in any measurement service. I’ve got rates at approximately that speed when downloading Linux ISO, etc, but Speedtest generally only shows 250-300, maxing out at around 350Mbps.

You had no idea what the situation was. This is an utterly mundane thing to do in what could be an active shooter situation. This is what we should be doing every single time something like this happens. The dipshit I was responding to was entirely out of line and clearly lost the thread, shifted goal posts, tried to bring in general coverage by KY3, really laughable except for the fact that he got a bunch of other idiots to agree with him.

Frankly, the fact that this could have been the sort of thing that ended with a bunch of people telling CNN “this kind of thing just doesn’t happen around here” and you’re using that to say my response wasn’t proportional to the risk, really makes it seem like you haven’t considered the effects of live social media coverage has on situations like these.

Do not describe police movements or share photos of same here until the situation is resolved. SOP on Reddit when this stuff is live.

That’s what I said. Nothing about sharing generic information. Was KY3 live-streaming the event? I didn’t think so.

Your ignorance about why this would be a problem is deeply unsettling.

You are beyond help. This is a straightforward and common sense thing to do in any emergency where first responders are involved. Not every movement is reported on radio, or other publicly accessible medium. Anything that gives the person creating the incident information about how to kill the people trying to stop them is counter to everyone’s best interest. This is very easy to understand. You must be a troll.

Filing fee is about $138. You’ll need a petition, an information filing sheet, and the other party will need to execute a waiver (or else be served). After thirty days you’ll need to file affidavits, a judgment, an MSA with property schedules, and a parenting plan (if applicable). You will probably need to appear before the court on the first floor to get it sent upstairs to be signed by a judge. After 30-45 days it’s final for all purposes.
