If empty white liminal spaces out of scifi are your thing then sure he's your man. But more typical real spaces are full of clutter like benches and other signs of humans actually living there.

Developers do things either because it's cheap or get them attention. Architects loving giving pats on the and awards for shot like this.

Because architects are one of the most insular industries around. Rich people only want award winning prestigious architects because they have no taste themselves and just compete with other people from that class and architects are the ones that give each other the awards

And what about the corridor between Toronto and Quebec city? That's only 800 Km and contains a large majority of Canada's population. And only two or three mined worth of copper isn't all that much.

Are you sure? there doesn't seem to be a mention of it on their budget. Granted I only read the summary of the expenses.

The right of ways would be turned rail and stations would have mixed use development with low and midrise buildings and at the same time connecting most warehouses to containerized shipping cutting the number of trucks on the road dramatically.

they don't have subcontractors for every little thing and projects like this are just infrastructure not a jobs program.

The money is from the people of NJ and run by our state. If the TA is profligate in their spending then they should have some of their money sent to others like NJ transit who could invest it more wisely.

But then less people would drive on the turnpike which would cause the turnpike authority to lose money. And if highways lose enough money and popularity, their highways might get demolished, and they'll be out of a job.

NJ Transit's entire yearly capital improvement budget is 2.6 billion. we could probably build an entire new rail line for 10.7 billion.

Get rid of the roads in the center except for the bus lanes. Make Plaza st 2 lanes wide right lane for turns only and left for straight. This means eliminating parking from the circle on at least one side. Restore the plaza st to its oval shap at the south end. at Union street they need to make a right turn from plaza st and move the crosswalks away from the intersections so cars are better able enter plaza st.
This way there will only need 4 traffic lights if at all, at flatbush, union, eastern parkway and Vanderbilt. Traffic will be heavy but constantly flowing so better then it is right now.

It's being bought up by private equity like BlackRock. Its actually becoming a problem for them too because thei funds are investing in terrible deals but they kinda have to because they ran out of good deals a while ago.
