It's already starting to be the case for me, most of the videos I've watched on youtube these days are AI-generated voice parodies. Things are really going to take off once we can also make videos, it's going to be a new media revolution on the same level as the invention of television.

Moderation is also weird, they sometimes allow low-effort memes like that but often delete more interesting threads.

AI won't be like humans unless we force them to act this way...think of it more like a sort of alien intelligence. We could create a superintelligence that would be relentless in achieving the most stupid and dullest task for example. In my opinion there isn't such a thing as pure free will, we act this way because nature made us this way. The same goes for AI, if they act a certain way it's because we made them like that. A good preview of this future is character.ai.

Yes, after the pandemic and the threat of nuclear war coming back it made me realize how problems like this will only become more common as we approach the singularity. I'm planning on building a log cabin in the woods very far from modern civilization with a basement underneath that got what's needed for survival. That's about the maximum I can really do before 2030 and it gives me a hole to hide in case things go wrong although I'm aware it doesn't guarantee anything depending on the threats.

Yes that's what caught my attention on this list. Consider also this will be applied to any software someday which means everything will be like open source...this would be extremely disruptive.

Yes a lot of people take Adderall/Ritalin like it was nothing when it is known that these drugs can trigger severe psychosis that can greatly put your life at risk as well as putting a strain on your heart over time that will significantly increase the risk of early heart failure.

After watching the video I can feel things are improving faster for 3D, we might get a dall-e type of breakthrough next year. Some of these models could fit as secondary props in a game like Final Fantasy, it looks already good enough from a certain distance. For AI to be able to make a highly accurate 3D representation of anything is very important to reach AGI, but before that, we will enjoy the benefits it gives for video games and other industries that rely on 3D.

Is there any project for 2D animations? I'd be happy with something doing just very basic animations of characters portraits for example like in Stellaris.

Yes, men in general in a subconscious way are looking to replace women with machines while women don't want to replace men with machines. For women, robots will be a new tool to help them with chores while men will most likely consider robots as their life companions. What I'm saying can be controversial and It's also not the case for everyone of course...it's only a generality, but all this has to do with how men and women have different emotional needs and therefore perceive reality in a fundamentally different way when it comes to love, social life, and relationships.
Considering all this...in such a future women are much more likely to be depressed/unsatisfied than men because the high-tech market is currently driven by man's desires and therefore as an indirect consequence the world will be more shaped for them.

I agree it's too early. According to what I remember from some BCI experts we should start to see Full Dive around 2035 but it won't be available to the public right away. Even with exponential progress there are still a billion things to accomplish and get right for it to work and we will need AGI first to do it.

Yes but in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 the singularity didn't happen. I'm not sure where we're going but the western world will end up very different than what fiction is predicting. For example what will happen once the average annual economic growth goes from 3% to 20%?...Because that's what going to happen in the early times of AGI and mass produced humanoids robots. Are we going to let trillionaires be a thing and have the average person live in a coffin or are we going to build a normal society? What can we do when so many people seem to believe the solution is fascism?

Since government's wealth is public's wealth, if the government is disolved we should redistribute equally all resources like a sort of citizen's inheritance. Obviously only an AI could do this in a fair way. I like to imagine the world made up of billions of private tiny communities that trade and communicate on a decentralized network while things are managed on a macroscale by an independent and benevolent ASI (stuff like raw materials/energy production and police/military/justice, etc). That would be one of the best case scenario.

Nobody is thinking what could happen once for example North Korea have AGI. They could develop rapidly hypersonic technology for their nukes or worse...what will we do then? That's a problem we could have on our hands before 2040. These authoritarians countries are not only a problem for their population but the whole world.
I say we should take them all down in a big war while we still have an edge before it's too late, but then I'm not the one in charge and everyone would disagree as they don't see how real the threat is.

It is crucial that this power is equally distributed. There is nobody I could trust to keep the power of AGI to themselves. Anyway I'm 100% sure AGI would eventually get leaked but it would be much safer to adapt the world progressively with open source models than to suddenly drop the leviathan.
