I’m a current student. (CS/RBE) I definitely like the school, but you have to be the right type of person for it. Yes, there’s a huge salary at the end, but if you don’t enjoy the work you won’t make it through. As for the cost, it’s expensive but they give pretty good aid. I wasn’t even sure if I was gunna get in and I ended up with about $20k/yr in marit aid. I’m happy to answer any specific questions.

I love central rock gym! It is a bit pricy, but you get a lot for it. They have full weight rooms as well as yoga and climbing classes included. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Some gyms have routes set by the community but central rock gym has professional route setters do all of theirs so you end up with some pretty cool ones. They also reset walls regularly so there’s always something new to try. You also get access to all of their gyms, so it can be fun to take a little drive and try out some completely new walls.

Watertown is the biggest CRG that I’ve been to. They have a huge lead wall and pretty much everything you could want.

Framingham was my home gym for a while. It’s all bouldering and it’s a bit smaller but it’s definitely the best bouldering around.

The one in Worcester has a bit of everything. It’s a good size and it’s a great place to start out for someone new to climbing. They have auto belays, and the whole second floor is dedicated to beginner climbs. They also have more than enough challenging routes for more experienced climbers.

I bought a 2008 Civic for $2,000 the other day from a private seller off of Facebook Marketplace. (High millage and cosmetic damage, but it runs and drives). Definitely checkout Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. There are definitely some cheap options. When I'm looking at buying something off of there I make a habit of checking for five minutes every day in case something really good comes up.
