This should be doable. Seekonk really isn't too far from Providence. The downtown area of Providence is fairly compact. Get a coffee at Bolt Coffee for your walk if they are open when you are in town.

I miss being close to VT for skiing and visiting my family, but that's about it. I am still close enough flying from Chicago and the COL is so much cheaper out here. Even though Boston is on the ocean, I never actually lived close to it, whereas in Chicago I live three blocks from Lake Michigan and it is awesome!

Some cities have live tracking with the countdown clocks or on their transit app, but even with that, there are issues with trains and busses still not showing up or disappearing off the route entirely. Not sure if MBTA has real time countdown clocks though. I would assume it does not.
