Brave Little State is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes their episodes are great and sometimes they’re really rambly, don’t really get to the point, or are over produced. They get stuck on a lot of the same topics and themes which can get repetitive. Let’s hope this one is good.
And Minneapolis is way more of a city than Portland is. In fact, Minnesota has a few cities bigger and with more to do than Portland. It really is crazy how closed minded some of these comments are. People really need to live their state every once in awhile and see other ones. Lot of unwarranted Maine-centric circle jerking here.
I find it interesting that you feel so confident calling Mississippians stupid when it’s one of the Blackest states in the US and one of the poorest. Are poor and Black people just dumb to you?
Check out antique stores along with gift shops of local museums/historic societies - they almost always have old recipe books. I have an old 19th-century Shaker cookbook which is fun. I also have a copy of “Early American Cookery” by Sarah Josepha Hale. Lastly, I have a copy of “What Salem Dames Cooked” which is an old New England cookbook. All of these I got at antique stores or gift shops for museums/historical societies.
