Taxes from what? The building itself was getting an enormous tax break to be built, and the people it was catering to work out of state or are students. Sure, there would have been a couple businesses on the first level, but not enough to account for millions in tax revenue. My whole problem with the entire boondoggle was there was no clear way for the city to make money on it.

I'd order the adult coffee milk, but that sangria is criminal.

Reply to Restaurant Perspective of RI Food Fights by RIffstaurant
I've worked at 3 restaurants that have done it, and they've won 3 separate events. None of them are worth it. You will lose valuable seating during your busiest times to people who are going to use the tickets and get waters. That means not only are you losing money for the food, you are losing money that you could have made from those tables.
As for the new guest acquisition, there are much, much better ways to do that. Pay Buns and Bites or Phantom Gourmet to come and review you, you'll get a much better bang for your buck.

You can get your servsafe certification online for like $10. If you don't have experience, get a job at a chain restaurant serving, and bust your ass. Work harder than everyone else and you will get a bartending shot.

Not so much a dispensary, as a product, but Betty's Bedtime Eddies are fucking incredible. Best sleep product I have ever used, and its not close. They are 10mg, where as the average edible seems to be 5mg. Make sure you have plenty of time to sleep, or you will definitely feel "hungover" in the morning, don't take one if you have to be up in 5 hours, but if you can do a solid 8 hours, they can give you an amazing 8 hours.
I've found them on different dispensaries at different times, but all of the big ones have carried them at some point or another. As of today, Slater has some.

I know some people who have worked for them, and it ended poorly, and I know some people who have worked for them and they love it. It's the same as any place. I definitely don't think they have a worse reputation than a lot of bar owners in Providence.

There is a combat archery place opening up off Valley Street in Providence, not sure when, but it shouldn't be long. Think dodgeball, but with foam tipped arrows.

When they were first installed, it happened a few times. They just cleaned it the next day.

For those of you saying the city lose millions, where was that money coming from? The tax break on the building meant it would be paying nothing for decades, the units it was going to offer were going to be way more expensive than most of the city can afford(they were clearly targeting rich kids at Brown and people who work in Boston or NY but don't want to live there,) and the businesses it was going to house were going to be pretty small scale, like a bodega and maybe a gym. I don't see anything about this deal that was going to bring in ANY significant money to the city. I was fine with the building, it was the giant tax break that made me pause. The city has made many, many deals like that. None of them have worked out for Providence.
