So you’re telling me I can buy an excavator and a fridge from the same company? Cool. Actually I think this isn’t the only one

Because manufacturing cost is probably a bit higher, and mfrs mostly don’t really care whether we use a bunch of energy or whatever they want to sell lots of appliances at a higher profit margin

Seriously. If we put the effort where the effort is needed … fusion… cancer… antibiotics… education etc… we could do more. We have to stop allowing technological advances to be mostly under the control of people whose main goal is to make a profit. People who would just as soon spoon feed us pieces of advancement instead of allowing large leaps in societal well-being and freedom from want.

For real. And it’s answered the misunderstanding I had about the announcement last year or whatever it was …that was “on”…. I hope this happens in my lifetime as far as power. We can do this.

I’d also be interested to know how whales behavior and patterns have changed recently bc if sea birds aren’t getting the fish they need to eat then whales have either moved somewhere to find food too or who knows, I want to know where the crab all went… north to colder water or what? Off the shelf and down deep?
dillrepair t1_j08hnvn wrote
Just look at the sea surface temps up there right now and the departure from normal…. Then look at historical high and low pressure/jet stream (surface) maps over CONUS during winter …. then look at the surface maps now . Maybe it’s nothing but I don’t think it’s good at all and I think much more extreme changes are happening a lot quicker than people think. But I’m not a meteorologist or climatologist I just had some climatology and meteorology courses in undergrad 15 odd years ago…. So all I can say is having an entry level grasp on these concepts and paying close attention to weather patterns over the last 20 years (mostly related to the daily necessity for knowing the pressure systems coming and winds on the Great Lakes) … things just look a lot different to me this year especially, and I feel they have been devolving this way for a while. When weather patterns begin to drastically change enough for a relative layperson to notice…. And all the crab disappear… and the gulf stream is reported to be at its slowest pace on record…. People need to be worried, not for something ten years away but for something in the next 1 or 2 even…l. Again that’s just my feeling on it.

I’d love to know the concentration or dose needed to increase the risk…. Regardless of whether no amount is safe…. I mean how many hundreds of feet of Teflon thread seal tape have I used in my life alone. It would be nice to know an alternative to even that and what a dangerous amount actually is if it’s this bad… let’s just say I’m washing my hands with strong stuff after I use it. But it’s in so many other things… they were putting maybe still are into snowboard wax I used during my racing years… used that all the time…. Smoking hot wax everywhere

Problem with cnn and corporate news media in general is they keep allowing this fake debate at all. There aren’t two sides to everything, there are facts and lies, And when you give so much voice to “the other side” when that side is simply factually wrong it presupposes they actually have a right to be the bigoted liars they are. They do not. They give “the other side” way too much earned media just so they can create controversy and gain ratings. Because they refuse to actually pay to send reporters out in the world to do actual reporting on what’s happening. The BBC and public broadcasting is my only trusted news source anymore. The rest is just opinion not news

FR … this is the MO I guess. I remember reading the method of how they do it several years ago when a guy on a car show i liked got replaced… it was basically because he’d had standards and had built the show along with a small production team of guys himself and discovery came in and just wanted to gut it, fire the production team guys, film everything as fast as possible on the lowest budget possible and sacrifice whatever they could get away with for bottom line. This tall Englishman was the only reason I watched the show it turns out… because him and his production people were the only ones on the show providing actual useful interesting information about how to restore different aspects for the diy perspective. He actually had a bit of morals and standards so he left with the crew. So they’re probably losing as much possible revenue as they think they’re saving it just doesn’t matter to them bc it’s a quick and dirty way to boost profit margins. Way to go. People will actually get tired of content lacking reality tv over time.

Nope. No sympathy. These ambulance chaser local news reporters fostered the system we have now. They allowed the GOP to take over at the local level by repeating their sensational lies for temporary ratings and readers. The fourth estate has failed, especially judging by how they still cannot just ignore trump.
The fourth estate is essentially to blame for the resurgence of fascism and anti-American crony capitalism in this nation.
