From my understanding your dad had it backwards. Obviously eating pork is not "fine" for a Jew because it's not kosher. And a Jew definitely cannot share pork with another Jew for the same reason. Regarding telling non-Jews they ate pork, I haven't heard any problem with that. However, I think there may be a problem with telling Jews they ate pork because that Jew may then think it was kosher. So your dad's theory sounds absurd because it was incorrect.

Judaism is exceptionally pro-women. The overwhelming majority of Orthodox Jewish women want to have a lot of kids, they want to be mothers, they don't want to have a career. They think it's their mission from God to have lots of children. What's the problem? This is not even the HALF of it because there isn't good reporting in Afghanistan. Go do your own research if you want to know more. The Taliban kill, torture, rape, and mutilate men, women, children, and the elderly. If this is just "an ultra conservative sect" then I'd hate to see what your definition of "moderate" is.
