I avoid Capital at all cost regardless of the weather or road conditions...I have a compact SUV so I get bounced around pretty good unless I slow way below the speed limit

It seemed to get better last year, but this year there's only been two times that they had to plow.

My dead end street in Brookline was plowed around 8:30am and I was really surprised they got to it that early. And then by that afternoon all the snow had melted anyway 😂

This. This is what I'm referring to. You think some dude busted for weed would get this kind of treatment? I'm not asking for anything extra-judicial. I'm just asking for people, regardless of wealth or connections, to face the same justice system. https://www.reddit.com/r/Pennsylvania/comments/10fq1pb/judges_who_took_kickbacks_for_sentencing_kids_to/j50lv1k?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

I'm referring to the rules of society in general. The wealthy and/or well connected don't face the same consequences we do. Never have, never will.

That's why no one is really in a hurry to help the poor and/or homeless. There's no money in it.

What they did is absolutely despicable and I don't believe that there's a monetary penalty or jail sentence that is harsh enough for the lives that they've ruined.

The article didn't specify, but it does say that after the scandal was revealed the court threw out 4,000 convictions.

They would be able to work faster if the court dockets weren't overloaded with low level crimes that shouldn't be anything more than a citation, if that.

I was being sarcastic. These punishments are nowhere near as serious as they should be.

I'm pretty up to speed on it as I moved here a few months before the November elections in 2016 but I hadn't heard of the gas tax law until he mentioned it...so knowing his politics I had to look 😆

I looked this up because I'm not a native of PA and have only been living here since 2016. So when a friend of mine brought this up a few days ago and I asked him how long that's been he said that it only passed 5 or 6 years ago...so I was wondering why I had never heard of it. Sure enough my Republican friend simply did not want to admit that it was a Republican governor who signed this into law.

"Why is the gas tax increasing? The increase is mandated by Act 89, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett, a decade ago, according to PennDOT."
