Reply to comment by Trinull in Hello everyone . I am very interested in space megastructure. such as mckendree cylinder or bishop rings. But suppose we built it. How can a spacecraft dock with it ? Knowing that these huge structures rotate at huge speeds to generate a gravitaty similar to Earth's by Dizzy_Ad3353
I could see a proboscis with a bunch of docking ports and a slip ring connection that cancels the rotation. Then you can dock more than 2 things.

There’s a whole constellation of US spy satellites in orbit that are very similar to hubble, and they track the earth just fine. Exposure times are much shorter too.

And it’s basically a goof, an experiment. Built with cheap consumer hardware.
Exceeded expectations is an understatement.

Sometimes these things do have audio. The body of the rocket will transmit sounds from the mechanism

All motion is relative. If you are moving along a straight line out in space, and you want to start spinning, then you just do that. The linear motion means absolutely nothing because without reference to something else it doesn’t even really exist.

What if they launch a relay satellite
Or what if they start picking up signals from our colony on Mars
