It’s because we used federal dollars to build the trains and until like… last year, metros with federal funding had to terminate at airports or not stop at them at all. Why? Who the fuck knows, but you’ll see the same thing at DCA in DC. The blue line in Chicago terminates at ORD so they could get away with it. This is why the subway to LGA sucked for so long, always needed an airtrain in addition to extending the subway.
This law got dropped a year or two ago finally so maybe in 20 years we’ll get a train direct to LGA but no way they’re going to rebuild JFK and EWR.

depends on the bacteria. Phages can absolutely be useful, but they're not going to replace broad-spectrum antibiotics for instance.

They're interesting but incredibly specific. Most antibiotics are gram positive or gram negative targeting and petty much nukes everything in that spectrum. It's easier and cheaper than engineering viruses for a specific bacterium.

Quality control? Try buying edibles at the shops that have popped up, it’s all awful and wrongly advertised. Also, eventually the feds will legalize it and it’s better to write the rules and use them as examples than letting a bunch of congress people from Mississippi go to town on them.
