I feel the same way. I recommend that book all the time to people of all ages. I didn't feel the same way about her next book Form and Emptiness. I also really like Murakami. Currently I am reading fifty words for Rain which takes place inJapan in the 50s.

I loved Gentleman in Moscow. After avoiding it because of its popularity, I finally read it last month. (actually listened to it) I found it a near perfect book. Writing is excellent, story compelling and I loved the characters. I will read anything Amor Towles writes.

I think that is the definition of a classic - a book with great writing that is still relevant and resonates today.

I really liked this book a lot but the fatal flaw to me was how the revolutionary group was so secretive and careful and then just lets her go out for a walk in the end. I don't want to be too specific because it is a big spoiler but it was out of character for how they operated.

I read the collector so long ago and then read everything else by John Fowles. The Magus is amazing but very different.
