YES. Hopefully they have a bit more staff on hand as well as a better stock of food. I love the Christmas Village every year, but the lines were extremely slow last time and they kept running out of items. The cashiers were basically bartering with us to make kind of Frankenstein sandwiches with whatever they had left. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt in that it was the first time since everyone started coming back out after everything being shut down in 2020.

Ambiance is great at a place like Elk Room, but I can get similar, often better cocktails at other spots around the city for much less.

I even had a decent time at Choptank, but again, they’re charging a premium for something that I can get elsewhere for a lot cheaper and of equal, if not better quality.

I dunno. I don’t think they’re selling mediocrity, but they are certainly overcharging for what they offer.

I was chewed out on this sub awhile back by some guy accusing me of gatekeeping motorcycling because I commented on how absurd these guys look. I don’t care about motorcycles. I’m sorry, if some dude is blasting mumble rap while driving down the street in what looks like an oversized Batmobile power wheel with funny lights all over, I’m going to comment on how ridiculous it is.

My god. The tricycles. All of those guys are douches to the max. I really don’t mind people playing music in their car with their windows down or on a motorcycle, or whatever, but good lord those guys blast that shit as loud as they can so they can make sure everyone looks at them riding around in their expensive toy.

One of the greater disappointments in my life. Would be such a no-brainer to lean into the Poe stuff hard. Spooky bar with Poe-themed drinks and decor. People would go just for the novelty and if you make it even a little upscale you probably wouldn’t have to deal with the fights and violence that place deals with now.

That may have been the point but it doesn’t seem like a good longterm solution. Eventually you will end up spending more money on constantly replacing these things than just installing something sturdy that you may have to do upkeep on once a decade.

Additionally, the fact that they are so cheap and replaceable makes for very ineffective protection and traffic calming. I have watched people in all manner of vehicles simply run them over or even park right on top of them.
