Two of my favorites. Pretty incredible she did both of those before she was 14 years old.

Wow youāre right. You win. Although heās maintained a great career, thatās gotta be in the top debuts of all time. I was blown away the first time I saw Primal Fear.

The Quiet American was over twenty years ago. Iām not sure anything he did between that and The Whale was any good. Unless youāre one of those Crash fans, in which case more power to ya.

Big would like a word š but Tom Hanks was pretty much unbeatable in the early-mid 90s

I hadnāt thought much farther back, but thatās a great addition. Mary Poppins and Sound of Music were both huge hits, and those were ostensibly her first feature film roles. Crazy how so many pop up seemingly overnight and then just vanish a couple years later.

I agree. As a kid Iād never heard of him until Lethal Weapon 4 and I thought he was the most badass dude Iād ever seen. Then I saw Black Mask, which was awesome. And then it just seemed like it was nothing but crap after crap š¢

oh I like it, those are two great films, but Eddie didnāt really come out of nowhere, he was already a star. But definitely an awesome pair of first films

It has a fabulous aesthetic. Itās a good story. Rutger Hauer is really great. Itās a full and complete world. It has a killer soundtrack. But I do think the movie has some pacing and plotting issues; it doesnāt live up to the insanely high quality of the visuals and vibe.

Nice semantics. It is a dark comedy. It is brooding and dark and also quite funny and poignant. I thought thatās what you asked for?

LOL. First you definite ācomedyā and then ādarkā but somehow miss the connector DARK COMEDY which is also EXACTLY what you wanted. In Bruges is one of the great ādark humor crime comedyā films.

Black comedy, also known as dark comedy, morbid humor, gallows humor, or dark humor is a style of comedy that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo, particularly subjects that are normally considered serious or painful to discuss.
Not sure what your definition of ādark comedyā is but Iāll roll with this one, and I think this sums up In Bruges perfectly.
