Ah, word, thanks. We were actually on our way to watch the final there. I went yesterday to pick up a bunch for today to watch the game with some friends. Then one of them and their baby had some virus so we couldn't hang. But the Empanada Market guy had said a bunch of Argentinians were coming to watch if there so we went instead of just sitting at home. It was cool.

I'll usually go to box offices around here for stuff to save on fees, but since my shows are almost never above $30 or $35, not too much shopping around. In the jam scene though people are very likely to unload for cheap or even give away or "miracle" a ticket.

For the recent Bill Strings show that sold out months ago, where tickets were $65, i got one miracled about 2 hours before show on CashorTrade and another for half off as we were walking in from our parking spot.

I can say as a very frequent concert goer, those don't seem to have changed too much. I don't see mega acts or anything, mostly jam bands, smaller DJs, etc. A lot of shows that were $10 or $15 a few years ago are $20 or $25 now, but still plenty of cheaper ones and that change was gradual as opposed to a more recent skyrocket in flight

Right, I'm down with all that. That explains why buffets tend to not get really high reviews in general, not so much why they got worse recently. Doesn't automatically mean it's an issue with the buffet in the case of the latter, sure. Could be people have way higher standards and bitch more about perceived issues now; customers have been particularly awful as of late. Still, there's SOMETHING going on recently. This is one of the few times I've taken online reviews seriously, because of the timing. Just wasn't worth the risk since my friend can't get out the house a ton with a new baby. I'd risk it for myself though.

I was reading up on some of them recently to go with a friend, since I haven't been to one since 2019 or maybe earlier, and the recent reviews were really bad for several. I didn't cover all the buffets out there, but the ones I saw had lots of recent reviews about cold food, half the spots on the bar being empty, mostly only having fried foods, etc. One place had only 1 star reviews the past several months despite having fine enough reviews (for a cheap buffet) previously.

Weirded me out about going to one for a while. I imagine their price/profit economics are all screwed up right now.

Want to borrow a hammock: does anyone around Richmond have a hammock that is good for sleeping that I could borrow to test out? At least a few days would be cool, a couple weeks even better.
I got a hammock stand, a Kammock Swiftlet and thought afterwards that I might could sleep in it to help my increasingly painful lower back. A lot of reviewers commented that it's low spread distance compared to other stands makes it hard to sleep in, especially if you're taller. I'm not tall, but I kind of feel like my Eno SingleNest makes it hard to get a good diagonal. I could be wrong, I've only ever taken a few naps in hammocks before. Just wanted to try another hammock before I buy one. I'm guessing a two person might be better or one longer than the Eno I have, since it'd be wider in the middle?

I was just coming here to inquire why it's so surprising. It's free, doesn't stop every 50 feet, has priority at intersections, and travels along the main artery of the "city proper". I guess it's surprising in the sense Richmond did something right, and in some ways Broad St is a bit embarrassing now with the lengths we went to preserve parking, but the latter wouldn't really affect ridership and it's a fundamentally very sound idea.

Is there any reason a pickup is advantageous to law enforcement? You can't put suspects in the back (EDIT: as in the bed of the truck) and I'm gonna guess they aren't just tossing a couple rifles back there. Someone tell me they aren't just trying to look cool and (in most cases) manly....

Right, not only are the costs higher for the small time farmers but the places whose eggs cost 20 cents a piece are probably getting paid awful wages.

AND, you might know but for anyone who doesn't, chickens raised more naturally have eggs that are healthier for us by several markers (less cholesterol and saturated fat and more of vitamins, omega-3s, etc.) They haven't really found a taste different in blind tests but once cooked they def. look way prettier on a plate with the deep color of yolk.
