well there is a short term benefit, which is that outages would likely decrease. maybe that will be enough?

the price would probably initially go up for a couple of reasons. First, to begin to pay back the debt, and second, to begin to improve the neglected CMP infrastructure. Linemen could get better pay and benefits as they would be state employees, and that could drive up prices, but to me that is a worthwhile cost. over time rates would go down, likely well below CMP rates, but that could take a decade. This is a great plan and you should vote yes, but you won't see short term savings. Think of this as investing in Maine's future.

yes, but the dangers of heavy metals are much more acute. lead poisoning literally makes people more violent

PFAS contamination has nothing on this. we’ll have heavy metal poisoning the rivers and soil.

millions of dollars came into maine from out of state this cycle. “people believe in this person enough to give them money” doesn’t really signal that they have your best interest in mind anymore and in some cases is a good signal to the opposite.

there were more “enough is enough” signs in portland than all other signs combined. it’s obvious the sign race is just another matter of who has more resources

sure but Americans are increasingly paranoid and antisocial. cable news and the internet have poisoned their understanding of the world.
Every year polled Americans say crime is rising but (despite the recent modest spike) it’s been trending downward for decades.
Fear and second thought are okay within reason, but you shouldn’t let it dominate you, or it’ll prevent you from leading an outgoing, community focused life, and it will steer you towards reactionary politics
