I've often thought you could apply this lesson to drug abuse patterns in the United States resulting from the criminalization of marijuana. I'll never argue that weed isn't addictive or can't have negative personal and social consequences, but they are minor compared to pretty much every other drug. One wonders if, as more people use marijuana in an increasingly tolerant and legal environment, substance abuse of other more dangerous drugs won't decline.

Alcohol has never been a good substitute for the more euphoric nature of most illegal drugs. Weed is definitely in that euphoric wheelhouse though, so I can see a lot of people who might have otherwise tried or used more dangerous drugs being satisfied with weed, as well as learning something about their own abuse risk profile with a far safer drug.

It's funny you mention this because I was about 10 or 11 when the MiB movie came out and really into alien stuff. When I heard about the movie before it came out I researched the men in black on the early internet and it was some really creepy stuff. When I finally saw the movie it was a much different tone than I expected. I agree it would be a great candidate for a 'serious' reboot that takes a darker approach.

Pass through like the Quest Pro has is really the only way forward for AR with current tech. Unfortunately pass through has many draw backs that kind of undermine the potential of the technology in the first place. Resolution limitations on display and cameras, lighting fluctuations due to camera exposures, lack of true color in real spaces, etc. Software can theoretically mitigate some of this but then you get to the compute problem and it's very taxing.

Same, I've watched pretty much every video on his channel all the way through, some multiple times. His YouTube engagement numbers have to be off the charts given the length of his average videos and I know for a fact the vast majority of viewers watch the whole damn thing.

Loved season 1 and agree season 2 might be edging it out. I would say season 1 felt more humorous and at times absurd with a bit less edge. Season 2 borders on horror at times for how much anxiety it gives me.

In my line of work, it's been a godsend that remote meetings have become normalized, and I can sit and type notes while I interview people. I've thought about using these tools, because it would help even more to be able to literally reread what they said when I forget, but I'm also hesitant because I feel I'd need to tell the other person and that might have a cooling effect on the conversation. It's much less of an issue in a large meeting, but for one-on-one stuff I wonder how it is received.

I have a bad memory and slow to take notes, it would be so freeing to be able to just focus on the conversation and know it's being captured. Ugh I should just do it.
