Times have changed, my friend. I was getting paid quite a bit more as a cannabis industry worker for the last 5 years. In 2022 our crew took a substantial pay cut. Even the best established growers are struggling with the flat wholesale prices and high cost of electricity. Cannabis industry cultivation jobs are still pretty competitive, there is interest. I’m seeing more turnover with employees however. It’s hard to live in Maine with what these jobs are paying now.

We switched from AT&T to T-mobile to save a good amount on our family plan. In York County they both work fine, but in the rural area where we used to live you had to go with AT&T to get service.

Going to the beach in winter is underrated, especially when the waves are pumping.

When my kids were little, our PTA wanted to work with the school administration to make an orientation guide. There was no information given to parents at all before showing up on the first day. It was chaotic and overwhelming for the parents and the kids. The principal was ready to retire and refused to take any part in such a project. The PTA at that school did a lot for the kids. If there is a PTA organized in your local school, the main office would be able to put you in contact with the parents who lead it. I found these parents to be familiar with the whole school and helpful with all kinds of information about the community. I met some good friends from volunteering on PTA committees too.

If your stay in Maine is expected to be temporary, perhaps shop for some second hand winter clothing. You do get what you pay for with outerwear, imo. Cheap winter jackets from discount stores are not very warm. Check Facebook marketplace, thrift stores, community clothing closet. I would buy underlayers (suggest Under Armor- the skin tight, worn under clothes long johns) gloves, hats, socks, all those items new. Not sure what your long term plan is, but I would not want to spend hundreds of dollars on clothes that I might only need for a short time.
