I work for a service provider and I told them I was getting service for free and he told me he needed a speed test to prove. I shut and locked the door and he proceeded to yell at me through the door to come back.

No soliciting didn't have an effect. Neither did do not disturb.

Maintenance does infact know and so does building management and they get a complaint from me everytime it happens. I'm at a point where I feel like I have to just accept the knocks and find a solution to the noise

This makes the water comments make more sense. If it wouldn't affect innocent bystanders I would be totally down

They get ignored. The more signs the less they read. A big DO NOT DISTURB or DONT KNOCK didn't help

I wouldn't answer the door. I am active at work the whole shift and cannot answer the door in the middle of a call or meeting

I cannot answer the door while I'm working. And sometimes they will continue to bang a couple times.

Phone sales/internet sales/deliveries and most frequently maintenance people/apartment workers knocking even though they know I work from home.
