One time my mother was helping me greatly while I was very ill, and when I recovered a little I posted on FB "My mother is an angel."
Someone thought I was saying she had died and offered condolences.

If his wife is disabled then she damn well better have an Amazon account. It's about the only way we disabled people can shop for ourselves. Abled people take being able to walk into a store and get, say, paper plates and batteries, for granted.
The trick is to consolidate your orders and get things shipped together for free.

I'm from central Massachusetts, which certainly isn't bad for foliage, but in high school we always had a debate at a school in the best foliage part of New Hampshire on Columbus Day weekend, which is basically the peak foliage weekend there. The views were a nice added benefit.

Reply to TIFU when I spoke to the surgical planner by sugarintheboots
My mother had surgery quite a few years ago - on her wrist, I believe? And it was a nerve block in the arm, plus sedation. These were administered by what I was told was an extremely gorgeous anesthesiologist. And she got made loopy enough that she told him exactly how lovely he was.
In fact, he nearly made a mistake that could have killed her, and she helped catch it (she's a nurse). He apologized and she said it was ok because he was so handsome.
So these doctors are used to patients saying all kinds of crazy stuff. Admittedly, they're usually drugged as hell when they do it. But don't worry.
