For sure!
For the record, I haven’t been to every square inch of Alaska, but it’s worth considering.

Banff, AB
Estes Park, CO
Bend, OR
Jackson, WY
All of Alaska
Been to all of these places and they’ve all been unique in their own way. Go and travel and see what you like!

Is it just inexperienced drivers? Poor planning on not watching the weather?
Colorado gets tons and tons of snow and there usually aren’t that many accidents through the mountains…

Have you checked your insurance’s website? They may have a FAQs page that addresses this.

Lol. I feel like that in Texas. Everyone and their dog has moved here in the last 2 years. I guess we have a big state, so theoretically more room…?

Good advice. Hoping to be moved by this time next year.

For sure. We’re thinking about moving to Tacoma, mostly for the reason to be able to do hikes like this whenever we want to, but if this is the norm, I would be a little depressed. I feel like the less popular spots would be less crowded, and maybe during the week it would be less crowded.

Wow. Is this normal? Or is this more of what to expect on a weekend?

I’ve been looking into Lacey. Seems like you get a lot more house for your money, compared to other places.

I haven’t lived there…yet. But perspective is important.
We’re about to move to Washington from Texas. I welcome open roads, trees, water, rain and isolation. I’ve lived in Dallas the last 5 years and the heat is literally killing me and my 2 young boys. Not to mention the violent drivers. I’m ready for access to waterfalls, ocean, trees, hills, precipitation. We’re looking to embrace all the ‘negatives’ that Washington has to offer and look forward to it.
It’s all about perspective.
