I don’t. Just as i don’t think that thousands of decentralized systems of solar paneling are equal to a central power plant well built, planned, funded, and staffed.

Yeah like why is a carrier even a thing. Just use 2000 rowboats.

There is no domestic task I want a robot to do. I enjoy cooking, listening to music during light cleaning, and while I wash and dry dishes or the few clothes I wash I listen to radio and daydream. Take away some of the simple chores and what do you have? Maybe it can read to me and make me a whiskey Manhattan but i enjoy those things, too. Fuck off robots.

What’s interesting is how the chandelier puts out analog data that is processed into digital data by a companion classical computer and feed back into it.

As someone who recently started riding a motorcycle, and taking it very seriously, I have learned a lot. There are a lot of idiots on motorcycles. There are a lot of distracted drivers. There are things you can do as a motorcyclist to really increase your chances of survivability by increasing your awareness your personal protection and your visibility. And there are things you can’t protect against,Because you still have to ride like no one can see you. All that said, the very first time I rode a motorcycle, I understood. I understood why people love them and why they are an amazing form of personal transportation. Riding motorcycles has made me a better driver. I would still not choose to ride a motorcycle on the highway if I had another alternative, because the risk of a life ending accident is just too great. But on a scenic back road, along an ocean, or a lake, or through the mountains, it’s absolutely by far the best way to see the world the way it is without walking.
As far as this article goes, I choose to ride with a headlight modulator and reflective gear.

Air source is not below ground at all. That’s what I’m talking about.

Ah we are talking about different things! A ground source heat pump is (I think) the same thing as a geothermal unit. There are also heat pumps that are NOT ground source but air source. This is what I was talking about.

Unless you live in a temperate climate heat pumps have to be really oversized (3x? If it gets really cold) to work in winter. And they take a lot of energy to work. It’s hard to pull heat out of cold dry air. For cold climates geothermal is a better way to go with current technology.
Edit: my comment is about air source heat pumps not ground source heat pumps which, yeah, work really well in cold climates!
