It's not LCOL. Even Chicago's outer burbs are MCOL.
Agree 100% - the current and future changes in climate should absolutely be more prevalent in housing valuation.

I’ve seen this building have some rental units listed on Zillow. OP may have luck there.

I always took the 96 to the Giant on Wisconsin Ave. Now you could also take it to the new Wegmans.

It's a quiet and more residential neighborhood but quick to Dupont or Adams Morgan if you want to go out. I just moved out of Woodley and already miss it.

You will need to start with Social Security. Once you have your new social card (your number will stay the same) you can get rolling on changing other documentation.
Don't forget if you are booking any flights your ticketed name MUST match the name on your ID/Passport. So on the off chance you have any flights booked with your current last name, you must either keep your old ID's - OR - go through the arduous process of getting the ticketed name changed on your airline tickets.

I purchased the LG cordless from Costco last fall. It was originally priced at $399 but I got it on sale for about $75 less after taxes. I have a long-haired dog, so I vacuum nearly every day - it's working extremely well for me. I bought it on the recommendation of a good friend who has 2 cats and also vacuums every day. She's had hers for about 4 years and is still using the same battery packs. I expect to have to replace the batteries eventually on anything cordless, but I'm very happy with this cordless vacuum.

Reply to how to thrive in dc with no big city experience? by Fresh_Dragonfruit702
I grew up in rural Appalachia and moved here in 2021. I had medium-sized Midwestern city experience before coming here. Even with that, It does take some getting used to, and I recommend you get a white noise machine or ear plugs. I had so much trouble sleeping at first due to the normal noise of the city.
Also consider living in an area that’s close to parks (Rock Creek is great!) so you can « escape » every now and then.
