What changed your mind?

I don’t expect anything to change from getting married. Getting married to save a relationship sounds like an awful idea.

I’ve had long term relationships before. I know that infatuation fades. I’m not naive.

Not everyone is as naive as you think they are.

Some women may do that but I’d say that’s a very small minority. Most women, yes the ones wanting marriage, aren’t doing so for financial gain.

No, it helps you ensure you are emotionally and mentally prepared for marriage. It also helps work out any kinks in your relationship. It’s proven to reduce divorce rates.

We would both like a smaller wedding. Weddings are expensive. I would love that, with a wedding dress I made myself. I want that display of affection, party and all. But it’s only real and meaningful to me if it’s with someone with whom you have a healthy happy relationship.

This is my concern.

I guess maybe it did make me wonder if he really cared about me… which is stupid, I’m such an over thinker anyways.

I don’t know yet if I want to marry him. It’s too early in my opinion to make that call. But if everything goes well, then hopefully yes he’s the one I want to marry. We moved in together because we were spending most nights together so it just made sense.

At that point I would just say you were thinking about marriage.

I think you’re right. I’m a romantic but being in a loving relationship with someone you trust and love to talk to is the most important thing.

Wanting to marry someone is romantic though, is it not? It’s a bonus that it comes with practical benefits.
