I had the opposite. I had a jacket I bought 12 years ago that was torn and shredded from use so I planned to not buy Columbia again. Then on this sub someone mentioned their awesome warranty so I sent the jacket back to them to test their warranty. They gave me almost $300 in credit (I paid $60 in 2011) and I have replaced it with 2 new coats and a pair of wool socks.
Now I'm happy with them for obvious reasons.

They are truly bifl though, their warranty is awesome and unlimited.
If u still have those shoes send them back in, they'll credit you to buy anything.

Columbia is totally in your price range (new or used) and absolutely BIFL, they are on sale now btw. Otherwise for your budget look at Patagonia used (ebay) as far as true BIFL, which I'm presuming is what you're seeking since you posted it on this sub.
NorthFace, LL Bean, Arcteryx, Rei, Sierra are NOT bifl warrantied (as far as I know), though they may be high quality.

Waring kind of sucks and does not last. I've had 2 immersion blenders that burned out fairly fast. Robot Coupe's the way to blend and worth the extra money.
ZenoofElia t1_ixhoth7 wrote
Patagonia is only bifl choice in that list.

Invest in high quality or prescription insoles.
They're BIFL, a game changer and make all your shoes/boots feel great.

Not if it's aluminum or plastic, generally speaking.
Et tu?

Oh okay, thank you.
The original handle broke at Burning Man and I used what I had at the time. It's been on there the last 15 years doing it's job.

I don't tamp hard like traditional espresso.
Until this post and peoples replies I've never heard of or called them moka pots. I bought it as an espresso maker, just fyi.

I don’t have a “Moka pot”.
I have a Bialietti espresso maker.

Too long and it destroys the seal. And I go on high because I'm impatient. When I had a gas stove or when I'm camping it's over medium heat.

I prefer lighter/medium roasts (because stronger caffeine, although I've heard not true correlation) and I call it espresso because of the extraction method, which checks out.
I grind it extremely fine (the grinder in pic does not grind fine enough) fill my holder till it's spilling over (using my left hand as a seal) and I then tamp it down. Clean the edges and put it all together. I heat it on high until I hear it crescendo and let run another 30 sec or so.

I've had my Bialetti since 2007. I'm an espresso achiever.
Replaced the handle with a tent stake in the first year and been using daily since then.

At one time, not too many years ago, I swore by LL Bean and was a loyal customer. Their quality has since diminished and they dropped their lifetime guarantee.
I was not a Columbia fan until a few weeks ago from responding to a post here on this sub. I had an old Columbia raincoat that I had recently replaced with a used Patagonia because so many folks raved about their quality and warranty. Someone in a thread informed me about Columbia's warranty so I made a claim with my 10+ yo tattered raincoat that I paid $70 for in 2011.
Columbia credited me $235 that I used to buy 2 new coats, which arrived today. I'm now a big fan and proponent of their brand.

LL Bean no longer guarantees for life, only for one year I believe.
Columbia's warranty/guarantee is for life and is thus far superior.

I got XL's and was concerned that I din't get tall because I have long arms. Usually in button up shirts I wear xxl because of the arms. These both fit really well. I tried them both on with and without a hoodie underneath to make sure they were big enough and the fit is spot on.
The Barlow Pass is awesome and a great deal, the Grindstone is kind of basic yet fully functional I'm sure, only 2 side pockets. The Barlow has a lot of pockets and the furry hood, I'm stoked and hope it gets cold enough to take advantage of it.
I chose them both because they're both down lined, so very light yet warm.

I don't as of yet. I'm just now opening a package with 2 new coats that I got because I warrantied a 10+ yo raincoat.
These are what I chose and am unpacking now, both hooded and on sale:
Barlow Pass 550 TurboDown Jacket
M Grindstone Loop 650 Turbodown Hooded

Yeah I followed the warranty links from their website. If you have the shoes still you should be gtg. They didn't even ask for receipt or any proof of purchase.
