I played the game at launch on X1X, managed to get through it with the crashes, but felt disappointed. I didn’t hesitate to accept the full refund.

Now that I own a PS5, I’ll likely buy the game when it has its DLC. There’s some stuff they did with the game that was truly remarkable, even at launch. It’s sad to see that they struggled so much with their own engine that they’ll be jumping on the UE5 bandwagon, but if it means better games, I’ll all for it.

Fighting the arbitrary rules that R* puts in place for missions. I got really tired of seeing “Mission Failed” because I looted bodies like the game taught me to do, or simply didn’t approach the missions exactly how they wanted me to do so. That was incredibly draining and why I don’t think the game is as great as people continually claim it to be.

Sure, it’s a great cinematic experience, but it’s frustrating to see a open world turn into an on the rails ride.

As much as I want it all to be true, the time it’d take for communications to occur, either civilization could long be gone. Millions of light years apart and we can’t even fathom how to travel at the speed of light.

I picked it up well after launch, they did eventually make an alternative mode/story that makes the game very similar to Wildlands. So, you can choose to have the loot grind gone and play the original story or play a region based, take on the head dude style story, but without all the production values.

I had fun, but I couldn’t find myself interested enough to finish either games or story modes, Wildlands or Breakpoint.

Move to always online, loot based grind, and throw in some mtx for good measure. Great way to piss off a fanbase used to none of those things.

It’s still Fortnite’s time btw. Starting a new Chapter this weekend and that’ll likely be a new map. Sure, the game has become an advertising/collab juggernaut, but it makes sense in their wacky storyline.

Anyway, they keep adding features like their parkour system, no build mode, and now likely a first person mode. So, a lot of the reasons people wouldn’t want to try it, the building, no longer interfere with just having a good time.

That’s the thing, you can tell when devs put in the time to make it look good. Just look at Arkham Knight versus Gotham Knights. Seven years ago, they gave a fuck and put out a sweet looking game that holds up to this day. Gotham Knights on the other hand, pretty forgettable around every corner.
