Honestly? If you're low on budget or want to run it as addition it can be good option, however I would still recommend much powerful Series X.. But if you just want Halo... Didn't you considered One X? It would be much cheaper and perform not much worse than XSS, of course if you just want to run Halo and or try GamePass

You can, but that makes no sense.. Why? Efficiency, money, time, amount of work. And in fact, if you ask 'Can I', it make much less sense in any attempts. No offense, but getting professional to suit your fireplace to work on gas or cooperate gas and wood (ashes in nozzles.. Yuck) will be !such more expensive than gettinfg professional installation with gas fireplace cost.

And in case of anything.. I know it's DIY subreddit, but some things are just too dangerous to mess around with them without enough knowledge..

Well.. I know that Halo for OGXbox had servers runing for more than 2 decades and there's still a lot of servers kept by fans, however, I wouldn't use network services aa reasn to choose device from that era. I personally, hunt for both of them in relativelly low price, but I'm a hoarder. In fact, if I would want to use online services I would personally look between XOne/PS4, du to fact, that community will live longer and they still can get a lot of benefits from owning PSN/XboxLive subscription, and first releases are in similar prices (especially in my area), as last X360/PS3.. You know, only small percent games is in GamePass that was desifned for 360, same as fac that they currently give games for PS4 & 5 in PSN...

So if OP has to choose, anybody actually, I would suggest different factors, like listo of single titles you're interested in, or accessability of games in your area..

Trust me, I'm too 😂 Still I would go for both, however if you have to choose, check out what games you're in. It would be easier to.me to.be addicted to one company, but I try to collect all of them

I would say both.. In fact, X360 has still big community, but I doubt in online services on that gen.. You know, we are 2 gens further, so I don't see point

Why would anyone choose any? In fact if you have no history of "online purcahses" in any of their services, there's no reason to care. As long as titles, looks and controlers are ok for you, you can take what you want.. But if you have any games, choose same compny 😉

Emmm.. You want to finish collection of that specific generation, so... That question is as much obvious as pointless.. Yes,buy it, you want to finish collecting 7th generation.. For any other reason, game related, PS4 would be better option

I'm sorry.. I don't know, maybe it's caused by fact I ain't native to english, but I have some problems to understand your words.. Yes, devices break due to wear or if you prefer "usage".. That's how world works.. You ever herd about "analog drift"? Same as switches on consoles, circuits, moving and not moving parts. Everything what is doing work of some sort may broke down. And we only talk about predicted causes that are effect of using devices as desifned, there are always things that designer never thought of (furious gamer?), and random occurences like transformator faliure or electrical network instabilities that results with damages.. Overvoltages are pretty popular, not mentioning users that don't know a thing about their devices or technical aspect of it (guess you heard about people that put in device totally random chargers or power supplies, from totally different devices, because "plug fitted", and ended up with not working or fried device).. Most of them might be repaired.. But knowing where goes peoples knowleadge.. well.. You have to know specialists to repair som devics.

In fact, it depends from what he prefers and in fact it's hard to say who would enjoy what.. My SO plays all the time on her phone, I did wanted her to get in console gaming, bought her NDS, she has similiar/same games on it, but can't force to play on them.. I personally have few Sony, few MS & BigN products, all of them has down and upsides.. Personally, I would check his wishlists, but.. tbh.. If you're not sure.. Give him funds or buy it "for him".. That's what I would suggest. On other hand if he has Xbox already, he has games library, so new device won't be equal with investment big amount in games, and if he plays any "progress to gain" titles, he won't loose it. And only on that base I will vote for Xbox Series S
