That sounds fairly Soviet… “Let’s keep the reactor operators as in the dark as possible”

What a comprehensive answer, thank you.
One thing I remember hearing, and I’ve always wondered if it was true, is that water is such a good ‘insulator’ for radiation that you could actually swim around in the water at the top of a modern reactor and not be harmed?

That being said I’ve been told that they can make things to whatever quality level you want if you want to pay but everybody just goes for the cheapest option on the line so they cater to that

just like glitter clumping, it’s a common stripper problem.

That’s what I thought but in 2019 Australia had 380 Mt of carbon emissions in total (not per capita).
China had just under 10 000 Mt and are on the way up because they’re industrialising.
I won’t just paste a heap of my own confirmation bias here lol but it’s just another frustrating detail about how our planet is getting the shit kicked out of it 😖
We definitely should’ve gone for the extended warranty back at the start

Faith in what they say being true.
I don’t mean to get into the morals of it completely, I just meant to say that when I saw our greenhouse emissions were Drop in the ocean compared to what they put out it was disheartening. I’m sad for the planet I guess..

most likely, I don’t think there’s any separation between the people selling your oil and the people buying it either, the only colour both sides care about is the colour of money

Well I think the UAE would just point out the US should stop purchasing that fossil fuels rather than them stop selling them, that’s a bit of a stretch..
Don’t stress too much, I want saw a chart the estimated when we would achieve interplanetary colonisation versus the speed we are wrecking the planet, And we’re not even gonna come close to making it

To be honest, I don’t believe anything China says about what it’s doing internally anymore.
I’m just going from a chart from a Quick google search
I do agree though that industry and profit I’ve been allowed to run rampant over what’s better for the environment, it’s ridiculous.

Do you know what’s super depressing? Looking at a chart of greenhouse gas producers by country.
Australia barely registers compared with China, who’s nearly putting out more than the whole rest of the world combined.
I want to do my bit for the environment, but it’s depressing when you find out it has almost negligable impact

I think that is a fairly modern concept in terms of war, before this century everyone just used to march around in red outfits and lineup to shoot each other
